DATA PROCESSING CYCLE
Data Processing: this is the description of how data is being
converted into information.
Data
=> data processing => information
There are six (6) cycles in data processing namely:
1. Data Gathering
2. Data collation
3. Input stage
4. Processing stage
5. Storage stage
6. Output stage
=> Data Gathering: This is the stage of putting the original data together which will be entered into the system. This is also known as Data Collection.
=> Data collation: Once the data has been entered, checked, ensuring the accuracy, it is then that it will be arranged in a specified order, either ascending or descending. In this way also, the data may be arranged alphabetically or numerically.
=> Input stage: this is the stage of introducing the sorted or information into the processor or system for further processing
=> Processing
Stage:
this is the stage where processing is done on the input data this may be
performing some operations on the data like performing arithmetic or logical
operations on the data and ensuring accuracy
=>
Storage Stage: in this stage the process data is stored for further
reference and maybe worried upon in the future it is stored in the system.
=> Output
stage:
this is the stage where documents are printed and report and written such
output may be printed in which old copy and may be presented in soft copy which
is shown or displayed on the monitor and can be saved on external storage media
